Jerry Tong is an artist based in London currently. Jerry's artistic practice lies between sound, video, text, experience design, and photography. He explores the invisible relationship between space, society, and identity, with a strong focus on the fluidity and multiplicity of Hong Kong migrants and water-based identity. Jerry believes that there is an inseparable bond between places, citizens, and the community. Therefore, he often intervenes in spaces through field research, using video, sound, text, and images, as well as historical research on the complexity of identity and community.

Through the conscious "recreation" of everyday images, the audience is forced to shift from pure "viewing" to the cognition of the essence of painting as an "object". The accumulation of highly saturated colors and physically aggressive, sharp substances at the texture level makes the painting itself a field full of internal contradictions. These sharp substances are not only part of the surface of the painting but also, in an almost brutal way, remind the viewers of the rough reality and potential tension hidden beneath the beautiful daily appearance that cannot be ignored.
